Italy · 2026 — 2027
A 5 or 7 night retreat from Rome to Umbria — and on to the Tuscan sea. Wild swims, vineyard lunches, candlelit castles.
The invitation
Join TriSwim for a transformative retreat that blends wild swims, mindful movement and authentic Italian culture. We journey from the timeless streets of Rome to the rolling hills of Umbria, where lakes, vineyards and medieval villages set the stage.
Swim in lakes. Explore waterfalls. Savour vineyards. Hike to mountain sunsets. Share candlelit dinners in castles. Because this is more than travel, it's a celebration of water, culture and community.
Schedule

Base camp · Umbria
Ninety minutes from Rome, a restored Roman borgo nestled in the Umbrian hills, where olive groves, birdsong and open skies set the pace. Elegant rooms, private gardens, a sandstone pool. Space to breathe, rest and reconnect between swims.
Who it's for
You don't need to be an athlete or experienced swimmer. Whether you're dipping into open water for the first time, walking peaceful trails, or simply drawn to long lunches under olive trees, this is for you.
Rooted in the Italian tradition of agriturismo, farm-based hospitality focused on simplicity, sustainability and seasonal living. Every experience is adaptable. Join every swim, or none. Stretch, float, hike, rest, all at your own pace.
You'll be supported by Laura and Cris, and surrounded by a like-minded group who value soul over speed and presence over perfection.
Day by day
We meet at Rome Fiumicino at 11am and head into the city for our first taste of la dolce vita. A guided walk through cobbled streets with stops for coffee, wine and gelato, then a traditional Roman dinner and a moonlit stroll to St Peter's Square.
Up to 2km in the glassy waters of Lake Piediluco, then a forest trail to cascading waterfalls where a local vineyard lays out a picnic of Umbrian wine, seasonal dishes and fresh-baked focaccia. Our first agriturismo dinner at Antica Nord Est closes the day.
Gentle riverside breathwork, a wander through ancient Rieti, then a spring-fed swim in the Velino. Farm-to-table lunch, a forest hike past waterfalls and a rustic mountaintop barbecue under the Umbrian stars.
Our signature open-water swim: 5km, 2.5km, or shorter with support boats beside you. A hands-on Umbrian cooking session, a long, laughter-filled lunch, and a candlelit dinner in the hilltop village of Labro with prosecco and sunset over the castle.
Rafting and wild swimming along the Velino, guided by local experts through rapids and calm waters. A joyful riverside lunch, an afternoon of rest, then a private vineyard tour and farewell dinner among the vines at award-winning Cantina Le Macchie.
A light villa breakfast, then a group transfer back to Rome Fiumicino for 11am. Depart rested and renewed — or continue with the optional two-night Tuscan Sea Swim Retreat by the Mediterranean.
